Sometimes you post stuff and nobody says anything. It might pull you down or you may feel like nobody cares. That is simply not the case. There are many factors that affect the success of your posts. Remember that often those that read and connect with your content may not say anything at all.
So remember that this is business after-all – don’t take a personal approach, and make that a rule.
But do TRUST that people are seeing you show up and serve! Remember to LOVE YOUR LURKERS!
Rather, keep at it and analyze the ones that are working and not working by noting the following:
1. Time of day
2. Day of week
3. Type of post: video, image, text-only, poll, etc.
4. Call to action
5. Where you posted
6. Other stuff happening that day (first day of the long weekend?)
7. Does post require short answer or long answer
8. Does post help people or are you venting or just promoting?
9. Does post direct people to another site or keep them on Facebook?
10. Does post encourage people to engage and or comment?
11. Have you made it easy for people to participate?
12. Have you made the post relatable and/or is the value clear and specific to the audience you are speaking to?
13. Does your post look like it’s been copy and pasted in 10 different places, making it less human and more robotic?
Over time, you will see that there are certain similarities in what works and doesn’t work, just by tracking your efforts!
Hope the helps some of you. And for the record, I know I take it personally sometimes but that doesn’t help me do better. I force myself to stop. So instead, take the analytical/business approach and track the variables to find the patterns!
